African Americans in Military Medicine
This exhibition is a smaller version of one of the National Museum of Health and Medicine’s traveling poster exhibits. The original was too large for the space. Much time was spent on reducing the number of panels and redesigning the panels to make them smaller, thus taking up less space. The panels were installed just before the January lecture at the museum which highlighted Black Civil War Surgeons. The panels will remain up through February for Black History month. The choice to double stack the panels was not an easy one, but allowed us to reduce the number of panels that would have to be cut. I redesigned, printed and mounted the exhibit panels myself, but luckily had some help cutting the panels to size and installing them.
