Get to know Emma Campbell!

 
 
 

Emma Campbell is an exhibition developer with a background in curatorial studies, exhibition development, and collections management.

Ms. Campbell completed her Master of Arts in Museum Studies from the George Washington University with a focus in exhibition development and design in 2018. While a student at GWU, she participated in a nine month exhibition design internship at the National Museum of American History, a three month public engagement internship at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden and three months working with the Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors exhibition. At American History, Emma’s main projects were the new acquisitions case in the Within These Walls exhibition and the new Ruby Slippers Gallery.

At GWU she also created mock exhibitions on WWI propaganda, Norman Rockwell’s Four Freedoms and wrote and an exhibition script for a children’s exhibition based around the Tudor court.

Emma also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and museum studies from Juniata College. Her degree also included concentrations in communications and art history. While attending Juniata she worked at the JCMA as a gallery attendant, gallery manager and curatorial assistant working primarily on the exhibition The Art & Science of Portrait Miniatures, and assisting on the installation of seven additional exhibitions.

Emma currently works as the Exhibits and Graphics Support staff at the National Museum of Health and Medicine. There she has created conceptual design, graphics and completed fabrication and installation of exhibitions.

In her free time, Emma enjoys hiking, traveling, reading and cuddling with her cat Forrest!
